+01.01. BASIC COURSE ON BUSINESS AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Description: The course explains the relationship between entrepreneurship and respect for human rights, in the light of the established by the “UN guiding principles on business and human rights”.

The very concept of human rights addressed first, then explain what is your relationship with the business. Discusses the course of the debate throughout the last years and the initiatives that resulted. It includes a practical approach to facilitate the understanding of the implications of these guiding principles for States and companies.

This theoretical content resources are used, videos for discussion, a session Webinar and two practical exercises using case methodology.

Directed to: The course has an introductory approach so it is suitable for anyone with an interest in the subject. You can have special interest for:

• Responsible for companies.

• Public administration staff.

• Civil society activists.

• Business consultants.

• Citizenship in general.

+01.02. DUE DILIGENCE IN HUMAN RIGHTS COURSE

Description: Putting a special focus on due diligence, This course intends to facilitate the understanding of the implications of the “UN guiding principles on business and human rights” in business management.

First discussed the reason for the relationship between business and human rights, What has been the evolution of the issue and the most important initiatives in this regard. Subsequently working on the most important contents of the guiding principles and the challenges posed to States and companies. Finally discussed in detail what is due diligence on human rights and what is in the management of a company.

This last is carried out through the review with a practical approach to the aspects raised by the guiding principles for the implementation of a process of due diligence, including the political commitment and the company repair mechanisms.

This theoretical content resources are used, videos for discussion, a session Webinar and two practical exercises using case methodology.

Directed to: The course is aimed at people with an interest in the business management of human rights.

• Business executives responsible for the definition of strategies and their operational deployment

• Personnel of departments such as social responsibility company, regulatory compliance, shopping, audit, etc., that it must operationalize the effective implementation of measures that ensure respect for human rights in the management of the company.

+01.03. CORRUPTION PREVENTION AND DUE DILIGENCE BUSINESS COURSE IN HUMAN RIGHTS

Description:

In March of 2018 the Inter-American Commission on human rights (IACHR) issued resolution 1/18 Corruption and human rights in which addresses clearly the problem of the negative impact of corruption on human rights. In June 2011 the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted the guiding principles on business and human rights: implementation of the United Nations framework to "protect, respect and remedy"by resolution 17/4. The resolution clarifies and explains the obligations and responsibilities of States and enterprises with respect to the prevention and mitigation of the impacts to third parties, including enterprises, they can cause on human rights, and the need to facilitate access to remediation if these occur. In this context it is necessary to know and apply relevant measures for the effective prevention of corruption in the field of the relationship between business and human rights.

The course is composed of three themes, each of them includes a theoretical document, hands-on activities and a self-assessment questionnaire. Practical work consists in participation in discussion forums online and the resolution of a practical exercise. Three topics include self-assessment activities.

Theoretical documents contain the basic information to be able to acquire the knowledge necessary to successfully overcome the course requirements: participation in the Forum, the solution of the practical exercise and self-assessment questionnaires.

A session will be scheduled Webinar at the moment that is more timely in terms of utility for the acquisition of knowledge and skills. It will review the main contents of the course are, and respond directly to questions that have persons involved.

The course teachers will participate continuously in the discussion forums and resolving doubts arising from the students, as well as contributing their opinions and knowledge. Additionally there is the possibility of students to carry out individual consultations for teachers.

+03.01. COURSE OF TRANSPARENCY AND ACCESS TO INFORMATION IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Description: The course analyses the ethical principles that must be met in any model of NGO management, focusing on transparency and the right of access to information, as requirements not only of legal compliance but also generators of confidence and legitimacy. Working on the main normative references and standards affecting the sector, to reflect and learn how to implement transparency effectively in organizations, comply with the requirements of the funders and also with the needs and expectations of the stakeholders of the Organization: holders of rights/beneficiaries, family, networks, Volunteers, partners, funders, public opinion, etc..

This theoretical content resources are used, videos for discussion, a session Webinar and a practical exercise in which applying the knowledge acquired about a real organization.

Directed to: Managerial and technical positions of NGOs / CSOs with decision functions, management and operational, related to the fulfillment of transparency regulations in Spain.

NGO staff, foundations and other civil society organizations interested in knowing the fundamentals of ethical management and transparency, and the right of access to public information, and that they need to improve their knowledge in this field, both relate to public administration, as to implement the principles of transparency and accountability recognized in national and international organizations.

It is also a course useful for persons who provide services to NGOs, consulting, management or legal advice, either people who want to direct his career towards the third sector.

Duration: 50 h. (5 weeks).

+03.02. COURSE OF TRANSPARENCY AND PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Description: The course analyses the ethical principles that must be met in any model of public management, focusing on transparency, anti-corruption and the right of access to information, as democratic requirement and prevention of corruption. Working on the main normative references and standards, to reflect and learn how to implement transparency in an efficient manner, and in special how to guarantee the right of access to public information and participation of citizens through the administration information management system, as well as measures to effectively prevent corruption. This theoretical content resources are used, discussion and resolution of practical exercises.

Directed to: The course aims to provide training to:

• elected officials,

• officials from administration (Central, regional and local), institutions and public enterprises,

• staff working, managerial and technical,

they participate in the processes of public management both in the definition of policies or their application, as in the attention to citizens.

For its content, It also brings knowledge and specific skills to freelancers (consultants and employees of OSC, representatives of associative movements, etc.) and citizens, interested in learning the fundamentals of ethical management and the right of access to public information.

This knowledge both for incidence and how to interact with the administration by making use of the principles and rights recognized in national and international.
